According to experts, Meghan is the key obstacle preventing any real rapprochement. The distrust toward her is so strong that no matter what Harry says or does, there’s always the fear that any private conversation could end up in a series, book, or exclusive interview. Even though Harry has tried to reach out, Meghan’s shadow remains too big an obstacle. Ever since Harry and Meghan decided to step back from royal duties in 2020 and move to the United States, things have only gotten more complicated. Their public statements have left deep scars in the family, and now it seems that even Harry’s desire to mend fences isn’t enough to repair what’s been broken.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that the Windsors feel a “persistent lack of trust” toward Meghan. She explained that any private gesture could easily become public fodder, which helps explain why William has been reluctant to approach his brother.
Fordwich added that a reconciliation seems “almost impossible”: “Harry thinks William insulted Meghan, and that kind of stuff is really tough.” These tensions, combined with conflicts accumulated over the years, make the relationship extremely complicated.
Meanwhile, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, was even harsher, calling the former Suits actress “the fly in the ointment” of the family dynamic. According to her, Meghan is not only responsible for the distance between Harry and William but also for tense emotions between King Charles III and his sons. Seward claimed that “much of the monarchy in this country deeply dislikes her” and sees her as a harmful influence on the royal family.
The criticism didn’t stop there. Seward also noted that neither Archie, 6, nor Lilibet, 4, have met their maternal grandfather, Thomas Markle, which she views as evidence of Meghan’s inability to maintain ties with her own family. “She hasn’t been able to embrace her family, no matter what she feels for them,” she said.
Meanwhile, representatives for Meghan, Harry, and William declined to comment on the reports, leaving the rumors to continue circulating in international media.
