Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge surprised and thrilled everyone by announcing that they were expecting their first baby. It was through a photo shoot for Vogue magazine that the couple, who tied the knot in April last year, revealed details of the whole process.
“I found out very, very early. I was about four weeks pregnant. I was traveling to Milan for fashion week and going to the Prada show. I was doing a very quick change in 24 hours and I felt terrible,” said the fashion designer.
Richie recalled that at the time she, her husband, and some friends were planning to attend the Ed Sheeran concert in Los Angeles, so before ending up on “a drunken night out” she wanted to make sure she wasn’t pregnant.
Another symptom, she explained, was that she had a slight delay in her period, which aroused her suspicions. So she took the test and… Surprise! “I was a few days late with my period and I wanted to be sure in general, so I took a test”.
Sofia Richie Reveals the Sex of the Baby
The celebrity admitted that “I’ve learned more in the last six months than I have in my entire life” and revealed that they are expecting a girl, which has them very surprised, as they were almost certain it would be a boy. “We both thought it was a boy, so it was a real shock,” she said.
How Sofia Richie’s Husband Reacted to the Pregnancy News
Sofia explained that ever since they got married, she and Elliot Grainge had been trying to become parents, so they were used to testing. However, when she found out the result was positive, she was surprised and immediately told her husband, who “was very excited.”
“He is such a sweet guy who always wants to protect my emotions and expectations, so he sat me down and said, ‘If they are negative, don’t be angry, our time will come’,” she recalled her loved one’s words.
“When we delivered the three tests at the same time, they were all positive. I was very emotional and we both cried. It was crazy, overwhelming, and very hard not to shout it from the rooftops. But knowing that I had arrived so early, I was very protective, even with my friends,” she recalled.
