According to People magazine, last September, when Joe Jonas, the ex-husband of Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, filed for divorce after four years of marriage, Turner found herself in New York with nowhere to go along with her daughter. She reached out to Taylor Swift to see if the singer knew of anyone renting properties. Instead, the pop star offered her apartment free of charge.
“Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year”, Turner said in an article for British Vogue’s June 2024 issue. “I have never been more grateful to anyone than I am to her because she took my children and me in and provided us with a home and a safe space.”
“She truly has a heart of gold,” added the X-Men star.
Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas dated briefly from July to October 2008, a relationship that even inspired the song “Forever & Always” from her album Fearless. Although Turner and Taylor have known each other for a decade, their friendship didn’t develop until the recent announcement of Turner’s divorce.
The actress praised Swift, for supporting her in private during the tough times that followed when she filed for divorce. “Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year,” Turner told Vogue Wednesday. “I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me and provided us with a home and a safe space. She really has a heart of gold,” she added.
Taylor has opened her home to Sophie. Sophie is welcome there anytime, and Taylor remains a great friend.
Recently, the two stars were seen together with other famous friends like Blake Lively, Brittany Mahomes, and Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
