Swifties have a reputation for being so protective of Taylor Swift that they can take down celebrities in a matter of seconds. And even though there are celebrities who don’t completely fall from the wrath of the Swifties, like in the case of Kim Kardashian, some damage was done.
Last Friday, Taylor Swift’s new album came out, and of course, it sparked a lot of controversy. First, the singer made several references to her ex Joe Alwyn, and the unexpected figure of Matty Healy, and in the new song, “thanK you aIMee,” she referred to Kim K, which many fans considered to be an anthem for revenge. If you have any doubts about the reference to KK, just check the uppercase letters in the song’s title.
In the song, Tay talks about a bully who hurt her in the past, mentioning that it’s a tan-skinned woman with a “spray tan.” Just a few days after the song came out, Kim K lost over 100,000 followers on her social media accounts. At the same time, many Swifties began harassing Kim on her social media with hostile comments. Some of the comments included:
Kim Kardashian Should Apologize to Taylor Swift
This isn’t the first time Kim K and Taylor have been at odds. Remember that the entire TS reputation era and all the snake merch came after a dispute she had with the socialite, where she was called a snake, leading all of Kim’s fans to harass Taylor on her social media, flooding it with snake emojis, and they were determined to end her career. But Taylor was clever and used all that hate to launch an entire marketing campaign for the reputation era. Many people think that Kim should’ve apologized to Taylor after she called her a liar in 2016 due to faking messages that supposedly Taylor had with Kanye West.
A lot of fans claim there’s no such thing as bad publicity, and that these negative references Taylor Swift is making about the socialite are only giving her more fame. They’ve even asked Kris Jenner to use this situation to respond to the criticism and have Taylor on their Hulu reality show.
North West Is a Swiftie
Kim Kardashian hasn’t taken an active stance on the issue, and rumors say it’s because her daughter North, whom she shares with Kanye West, is a fan of Taylor.
