If you’re into reality shows, you’ve probably seen “My 600-lb Life” at some point, and you might remember some famous sisters who were on the show, Amy and Tammy Slaton, who also had a YouTube channel where they documented aspects of their lives.
The two sisters entered the show with serious obesity issues, and their weight loss journey was chronicled in the episode ‘1000-lb Sisters.’ What has recently shocked the world is the incredible weight loss of one of the sisters, Tammy, who lost 440 pounds, and she showcased this extreme weight loss in a swimsuit photo.
According to Page Six, the YouTuber did undergo bariatric surgery, and the results are undeniable. In fact, the TLC celebrity has been showcasing her progress on the channel since last year, when doctors informed Tammy that she weighed over 725 pounds and needed to lose at least 200 to be eligible for surgery.

Recently, Tammy was photographed walking alone, without the aid of a walker, cane, or oxygen, a milestone she achieved after losing 300 pounds. She later told People magazine that she was just happy to be alive, after surviving a near-death experience where she had to be put on a ventilator and went into an induced coma.
“Now I only wear my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap [bilevel positive airway pressure] machine,” she explained about her recovery and weight loss. “I monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and keep my machine on hand in case I need it.”
