Taylor Swift finally decided to respond with a resounding denial to the rumors about her alleged bisexuality, gossip that began to circulate among her followers, after observing the attentive way in which she treats her friends. Speculation arose as a result of her decision to no longer date famous boys, during a period of about two years, in which she was seen surrounded by an entourage of beautiful friends from the world of entertainment. During this period, it was rumored that she was dating Karlie Kloss and Dianna Agron.
Many fans even thought that several of the singer’s songs were dedicated to her friends and lovers. Swift has categorically denied the unfounded accusations, through a prologue she wrote for the 1989 re-release, in Taylor’s version, which by the way is out today!
“People who have criticized me for having a romantic life like any other girl my age should know the truth and shut up once and for all,” the singer wrote.
“You see, in the years prior to the rumors and slander, I have been the subject of all kinds of accusations regarding my sexuality, my private relationships. I’ve been accused of dating too many men, of trivializing my lyrics dedicated to supposed lovers, as if I were some kind of crazy predator of boys. The media supported and made a mockery of me, and I had to stop them in their tracks because they were already starting to hurt me,” the pop star reiterated.
“I was very clear that I could not have a casual date with anyone, not even in a platonic way, with any friend, since the media was already publishing that I was sleeping with them. So I shielded myself, denying any encounter with the male gender, for fear of being judged, in a society that claims to be in pursuit of women’s rights, but in reality behaves as in the Victorian era.”“I preferred then, being a consummate optimist, to move forward with my career, I forgot to go out with anyone, focusing solely on my music (…)I decided to surround myself only with my friends, and I thought that the gossip would stop, no one could sexuality something like That’s what I thought, but I was very wrong. People invent all kinds of slander, you would be surprised what society can do.”
The artist added that she wholeheartedly thanks the followers who did not succumb to false rumors, and who understand that if someone surrounds themselves with friends during adulthood, it will be for a particular reason, perhaps it is because they have not had enough female friendships in childhood.
Do you think it was necessary to clarify all this? What would be the problem with some fans thinking that she is bisexual? Doesn’t Taylor defend LGBT rights and ideals? Could it be that because of her relationship with Travis Kelce, she is having to make it clear?
