Timothée Chalamet is about to embark on a new film based on the life of singer, musician, and composer, Nobel Prize in Literature winner, Bob Dylan. It’s something that has us very excited because not only are we going to see the life and work of one of the most important artists of the last and present centuries on the big screen, but we’ll also get to see him portrayed by the handsome and talented star of Dune.
During an interview with NME, Austin Butler and Timothée Chalamet were asked about bringing music icons to life, as Butler, 32, recently starred in the biographical film Elvis, and Chalamet, 28, is about to bring Bob Dylan to life. They have both previously worked together in productions like Dune 2, and they both expressed their admiration for each other. According to People magazine, they said the following:
“I’ve been picking Austin’s brain non-stop, but I feel — let’s let my film come out before I’m so lucky as to get included with Austin, he did such a phenomenal job,” Chalamet told the outlet, when asked whether he and Butler have spoken about portraying legendary musicians. “But I do feel prideful about that too, because those are two artists that — I can’t speak from Elvis’ perspective, but deep in the Bob Dylan lore now, he had tremendous respect for Elvis and Sun Records.”
“Timothée works so hard, and it’s just so cool to get to discuss process and talk through things. I can’t wait for that film,” Butler added. “I wish I could be on set every day to just watch the magic happen.”

A Cinematic Musical Universe
Just as we have the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), Timothée mentioned that he would like to create a musical cinematic universe and he would love for Butler to appear in Dylan’s movie. Honestly, it would be incredible if that happened. Let’s hope the production gods hear the prayers and comments of Tim.
Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan
Chalamet has been considered for the role of Bob Dylan since 2020, whose title apparently will be A Complete Unknown, and it’s scheduled to start filming in March in New York.
