If by some twist of fate while you were browsing Tinder, you came across a profile with the image of Zayn Malik, a former member of the boy band One Direction, and reported it for identity fraud, you might have missed the chance to date the singer!
Recently, Zayn revealed in an interview with NYLON magazine that he hasn’t had much luck with Tinder because people don’t believe it’s really him.
“It’s not been too successful for me, I’ll be honest” Malik admitted. “Everyone accused me of catfishing. They’re like, ‘What are you using Zayn Malik’s pictures for?’ I’ve been kicked off once or twice.'”
Zayn’s story might seem like a complete disaster, except that there’s a dating app designed to help the rich, famous, and notable verify they are real people just looking to date. Apparently, the former 1D member is unaware of the app Raya.
Despite his frustrating adventures on the popular dating app, the star assured that he isn’t looking for any dates at all… at least for now. “I’m very content and happy being single for the first time in my life,” he told the magazine.
The singer also took the opportunity to talk about his past relationships with Perrie Edwards and Gigi Hadid.
Zayn’s past love life
About a year after One Direction was formed, the singer started dating Edwards, a member of the British girl group Little Mix. They got engaged in 2013 but broke up two years later.

On the other hand, with his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, he dated from 2015 to 2021. They have a three-year-old daughter.
In the NYLON interview, Malik did something unusual—he talked about his relationship with Edwards. “From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship. I was engaged and planning to get married and didn’t know anything at that time,” he said. “I thought I did because I was 21. Legally, I could do everything, but I didn’t know shit,” he added.
“From 21 to 27, I was with Gi,” Malik continued. “We had a child and it didn’t take me long to really get to know myself.”

The “Pillowtalk” singer also reflected on his high-profile relationships while navigating fame, admitting that he “took advantage” of the opportunity to have a normal love life.
“I lived a very quiet life in Bradford. I never really had a girlfriend. My parents were old school, so I never brought a girlfriend home or anything like that.” “When I had the chance to do that, I jumped in with both feet and said, ‘I’m going to have a girlfriend and she’s going to live with me. This makes me a grown man,'” Malik recalled.
