Members of iconic pop group ABBA have called on former President Trump to stop using their music and videos at his campaign rallies, the band’s record label said. This only confirms that Trump isn’t the Dancing Queen.

In a statement to the Reuters news agency, the band’s record label Universal Music said: “Together with the members of Abba, we have discovered that videos have been released where Abba’s music has been used at Trump events, and we have therefore requested that such use be immediately removed and taken down.”

The Trump campaign has not responded to a request or commented on the matter.

Several artists have also objected to their music being played at Trump events over the years, including the late American singer and guitarist Tom Petty, British singer-songwriter Adele and rock band R.E.M. Singer Celine Dion and her record label recently filed a similar complaint, calling the use of her performances “unauthorized.”

However, despite the complaints, in the United States, campaigns must obtain a Political Entity License from music rights organization BMI, which gives them access to more than 20 million songs to use at their rallies.

Although artists and publishers can request that their music be removed from the list, organizers do not appear to check the database very often to confirm clearance.
