This year’s Lollapalooza saw a record-breaking attendance of at least 110,000 people, with a staggering 80,000 of them turning out specifically to see the reigning “It girl” of the moment, Chappell Roan.
Although the exact figures are still under wraps, two sources close to Roan and the festival have informed CNN that her performance rivaled many headliners and is believed to be the largest crowd for a single act in Lollapalooza’s history worldwide.
Since its debut as a touring event in 1991, Lollapalooza expanded internationally in 2010 and is now one of the most important festivals.

Roan was originally scheduled to perform on a smaller stage, but due to overwhelming demand, she swapped set times with Kesha and took the main stage instead. The crowd was so massive that it rivaled many headliners, making it a historic moment for the festival.
Rocking a ‘lucha libre’ suit, the “HOT TO GO” performer gave her soul and energy on the stage and danced with the attendees, giving the most electrifying show.

This year’s Lollapalooza, held from August 1-4, 2024, featured artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Blink-182, Hozier, SZA, Sam Smith, Limp Bizkit, Thirty Seconds to Mars and more.
