After four seasons together in Formula 1, Checo Pérez and the Red Bull team have reached an agreement to part ways in 2025.
In this way, the Mexican driver is left without a seat in the top category and his future is very uncertain.
Will Checo Pérez continue at Red Bull?

Checo Pérez joined Red Bull for the 2021 season and, over the course of four seasons and 90 races with the team, the Mexican driver enjoyed the most successful period of his 13 years in Formula 1.
As well as taking five wins, including winning the Monaco Grand Prix and a pair of victories at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that earned him a reputation as the “King of the Streets of F1”, Checo helped the team to two Constructors’ World Championship titles in 2022 and 2023. As individual runner-up last year, he also sealed the first 1-2 in the Drivers’ standings for the team alongside Max Verstappen.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the last four years with Oracle Red Bull Racing and for the opportunity to race with such an incredible team. Driving for Red Bull has been an unforgettable experience and I will always treasure the successes we achieved together. We broke records, reached remarkable milestones, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people along the way.”
“A big thank you to every single person in the team, from management, engineers and mechanics, catering, hospitality, cooking, marketing and communications, as well as everyone in Milton Keynes, I wish them all the best for the future. It has also been an honour to race alongside Max as a teammate for all these years and share our success. A special thank you to fans around the world, and especially to Mexican fans for their unwavering support every day. See you soon. And remember… Never give up.”

Christian Horner, Team Principal and Red Bull CEO, said: “I would like to thank Checo for everything he has done for Red Bull over the past four seasons. From the moment he joined in 2021, he proved to be an extraordinary team player, helping us win two Constructors’ titles and achieve our first 1-2 in the Drivers’ championship. His five victories, all on street circuits, were also a spectacular mark of his determination to always push to the limit. Although Checo will not race for the team next season, he will always be an extremely popular member and a treasured part of our history. Thank you, Checo.”

Who will take Checo Pérez’s place?
Although the team has not yet officially confirmed Checo Pérez’s replacement, New Zealand driver Liam Lawson is expected to take his place. Lawson, who has impressed during his time with Red Bull’s junior team Racing Bulls, is considered the prime candidate for the job.
