Helen Sellers, the Awesome Woman That Inspired ‘Hey, Arnold!’s Wacky Grandma

When you saw Hey, Arnold!, you never imagined that Grandma Pookie was inspired by a real person, Helen Sellers, and we will tell you all about it.

Hey, Arnold! is one of the animated series that marked the childhood/youth of many and it was hard not to identify with at least one of the characters. And one of the grandmothers who has made the biggest impact on television is Pookie Gertie and, believe it or not, she existed in real life.

Users reacted to Bartllett’s photograph and, surprised, applauded that the great character was inspired by a woman important to the creator of ‘Hey, Arnold!’

Hey, Arnold!, a Series from the Nineties

Hey, Arnold!, was an American animated series, aired on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2004, although it continued to run on other channels for several years.

The series told the story of a nine-year-old boy named Arnold who lives with his grandparents at a boarding house in a huge New York-influenced city.

Arnold is an optimistic, good-natured and creative boy, qualities he brings to everyday problems with his friends, his school and his neighborhood, ranging from everyday trivia to real adventures.
