During its opening weekend, ‘Inside Out‘ became Pixar‘s biggest hit in its history, grossing an exorbitant amount of almost $300 billion worldwide. This made many of us begin to assume that a third installment of the franchise would be announced soon, and now it’s a fact, but in a very different way than we thought.
‘Inside Out’ would return in series format for Disney+
In an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Pete Docter, the director and creator of the first film and the universe of ‘Inside Out’, spoke more about the future of Pixar and gave us a small preview of what we’ll watch about this great film that has brought us delighted so much.
According to the director, the series is already finished and is scheduled to arrive next year spring, although there is no specific release date. About what the series will be about, Pete Docter also gave us a little more information and it seems that we will see a much larger and more fantastic universe than we had thought.
“We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”

In the first ‘Inside Out’ movie, Joy, Sadness and Bin Bong visit Dream Production, an area in Riley’s mind that activates when she is sleeping and is where the other characters begin to create the stories she sees. in your dreams.
Well, according to Pete Docter, this is a whole field to explore, so the series based on ‘Inside Out’ will show us everything there’s in this place and take us to the depths of our dreams.
It should be noted that the fact that this series based on ‘Inside Out’ and its characters does not imply that there are no plans for a movie, in fact, Kelsey Mann, the director of the second installment, has already mentioned that there are possibilities of a third of this franchise, perhaps, at a time when Riley is much older. In an interview, the filmmaker mentioned that they turned to a group of girls between the ages of 9 and 13 to get notes on what Riley should be like in the film.

This team, which was named “Riley’s Crew,” also talked about a scene that did not make the final cut, but that, according to Kelsey Mann, will return “at some point,” which would imply that a third delivery of Inside Out could be in Pixar’s future plans. Specifically, what she said was:
“One of my favorites is a location that we came up with called Procrastination Land. This is the land I definitely have, especially as a teen. It was a land which had a big sign that said ‘Procrastination Land’ and then it said ‘Coming Soon.’ And Anger was like, ‘When are they gonna start building that place?! It just keeps sitting there!’ They haven’t made any movement on it. It’s such a funny idea. We had trouble figuring out why in this particular story. I won’t tell you everything about it, there’s some other stuff about it that’s really funny. So I’m like, ‘This has to be used somehow in the future.'”
