Lets explore her history first: Hello Kitty, or “Kitty White” as she’s officially known, was born on November 1, 1974. Created by Yuko Shimizu and produced by the Japanese company Sanrio, Hello Kitty was initially designed to be a cute character for young girls.

She explained that “Hello Kitty is not a cat. She’s actually a little girl born and raised in the suburbs of London.”
