Linkin Park fans, how are you doing?! Are you freaking out already?
What a great time for music! First, Oasis announced a comeback, and now, after nearly seven years of silence, one of the most iconic rock bands of the nu-metal genre is back with exciting news: a brand-new album and a new vocalist to carry the torch.
The band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2017 following the tragic passing of their lead vocalist, Chester Bennington, but now they’re ready to return to the stage, and not only they are back, they brought a fresh and interesting proposal: Emily Armstrong, a 38-year-old singer from California.
And maybe it is just my opinion, but this amazing combination not only honors Chester, but also brings back the grunge, alt-rock nu metal era. Get your chokers, your flannel shirts, your combat boots…
Linkin Park Returns With New Album and Vocalist
Linkin Park recently unveiled their new live track, The Emptiness Machine, and with that came the official confirmation of their return. The band has introduced their new co-vocalist, Emily Armstrong, who many will recognize as the powerful lead singer of the rock band Dead Sara.
The band’s upcoming world tour, named after their new album From Zero, is already generating a lot of buzz. Fans can look forward to shows in major cities like New York, Bogotá, Hamburg, London, and Seoul.
The New Album: From Zero
The new album, From Zero, is set to drop on November 15. It will be available on all digital platforms, with physical copies available for purchase as well. According to Mike Shinoda, the band’s co-founder and driving creative force, the album is both a tribute to their past and a fresh start for the future.
“The title From Zero reflects our humble beginnings and the new journey we’re embarking on now,” Shinoda explained. “Musically and emotionally, it’s about where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. It’s still got that signature Linkin Park sound, but it’s infused with new energy and life.”
About Linkin Park
Linkin Park is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band formed in 1996. Known for blending elements of alternative rock, nu-metal, hip-hop, and electronic music, they quickly gained international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000, which remains one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. The band’s lineup originally included Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Rob Bourdon, and Joe Hahn.
Hits like In the End, Numb, and Crawling solidified their status as one of the defining bands of their generation. Their hiatus in 2017 left a significant void in the rock world, but their comeback with Emily Armstrong signals a new era for the band and we are super excited!
