After Angus Cloud died from an accidental overdose, the world of film and television has never been the same. The projects he left pending like Euphoria or Your Lucky Day remind viewers of the loss of one of the most prominent rising stars. This Thursday the official trailer for Abigail was released, one of the latest film projects in which Cloud participated. It is a horror film from Universal Pictures and will be released on April 19. The film is directed by film duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick.
The story centers on a group of kidnappers who find themselves in the middle of a mess when they try to kidnap a girl named Abigail, who turns out to be a vampire and is played by the star of the Matilda musical, Alisha Weir. According to the film’s synopsis, “Children can be real monsters. After a group of criminals kidnap the 12-year-old dancing daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is keep an eye on the girl at night. In an isolated mansion, the captors begin to dwindle, one by one, and discover, to their growing horror, that they are locked up with a seemingly normal girl.”
The trailer, just under three minutes long, offers, in addition to bloody and terrifying images, the opportunity to see one of Cloud’s last performances on the big screen, before his death last July 2023, at 25 years old. He shares a cast with the star of Euphoria and established names in cinema such as Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, and Kevin Durand. “Abigail” is produced by William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt on behalf of Project X Entertainment. Tripp Vinson also produces alongside Radio Silence’s Chad Vilella. Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher serve as executive producers.

This story was written in Spanish by Daniel Matute in Cultura Colectiva.
