Breaking Bad is considered by thousands of people to be one of the best series of all time and although the last episode was broadcast more than 10 years ago, the reality is that few productions can boast of having the popularity that the series continues to have today in day. It is for this reason that although Netflix decided to pamper us by launching El Camino, a film with which it sought to give an end to the story of Jesse Pinkman, and the spin-off Better Call Saul, with which we enter the world by lawyer Saul Goodman, it seems that the stories of the series’ universe will not end there.
Fans of the series can be happy again since everything indicates that in a very short time, we will see one of the most epic characters in the series on the small screen, and yes we are referring to Gustavo Fring. And it was precisely Giancarlo Esposito, the actor who played Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, who opened the door for us to start getting excited, again, with the launch of a series inspired by the story of the owner of ‘The Chicken Brothers.
Will There Be a New Breaking Bad Spin-Off?
During the 2024 Emmys, Giancarlo Esposito commented in an interview for Variety that after the success of Better Call Saul, the idea of producers entering into a new series about his character is not a crazy idea. The actor explained that if things go well, “eventually there should be, and maybe there will be, a Breaking Bad spin-off that focuses on the rise of Gus.”
According to Esposito, the story should focus on what were the pieces that made Gustavo Fring what he was, which would undoubtedly be an interesting plot for all those who were amazed by the main story of the Chilean businessman. However, we will have to wait a little longer to confirm Gus’ return to the screen, something we are already looking forward to becoming a reality.
