If there’s one thing people love on the internet, it’s coming up with interesting theories about famous people like Cassie from Euphoria and Lewis Strauss from Oppenheimer.
While someone was taking his 5 minutes to infinity and beyond, he took a closer look at the two and came to a conclusion that doesn’t seem so far-fetched. It turns out that these characters would have more in common than we might imagine, even in physique. It is surprising.
Cassie (Euphoria) would be the reincarnation of Lewis Strauss (Oppenheimer)
The theory suggests that Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), one of the characters in the highly acclaimed HBO series, is the reincarnation of Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.) in Oppenheimer‘s recent film. In fact, there’s more proof than doubt…
First, let’s talk a little about each of them. Cassie, for example, is a very sweet and accommodating young woman. She is insecure and, therefore, often makes bad decisions. Her past problems have repercussions on her present, as the problems between her parents led her to develop an attachment to her father, who later abandoned her.
This is how, without thinking about anything else, she falls in love with all the young men she goes out with, no matter if they are cute, or aggressive, she just doesn’t know how to be alone. All this added to the fact that her colleagues brand her as an “easy” woman after some packs of her were leaked. She is a very sensitive and sentimental person.
Lewis Strauss, meanwhile, was described by Nolan as a man who believes the whole world is against him. He will use his power as head of the Atomic Energy Commission to work his way into the US government and discredit Oppenheimer. His communist past will influence his decision-making and reveal his true self during the management of the Manhattan Project.
Proof that Cassie is Lewis’ Reincarnation
Now comes the interesting part, because perhaps at first glance we might think that they have nothing in common; however, they are more similar than we would expect. The first thing is that they both carry a dark past that has repercussions in their present, leading them to make the worst decisions.
Both Cassie and Lewis are looking to get the attention of someone specific. Cassie wants her ex Nate Jacobs‘s attention and Lewis wants Albert Einstein‘s. They try to convince them that they should “choose them,” but unfortunately, neither is fortunate enough.
They are ignored and made to feel lesser… then comes the betrayal. An example of this is the scene where Cassie crosses paths with Nate, and he walks away; her smile fades and changes to a face of sadness. This would parallel what happens to Lewis when he approaches Albert Einstein to convince him that he should support him against Oppenheimer, but like her, he is also ignored.

As if that wasn’t enough, both characters were physically compared, and many of their features fit perfectly. So as crazy as it sounds, Cassie from Euphoria could be the reincarnation of Lewis Strauss from Oppenheimer. The saddest thing of all is the realization that Oppenheimer, as amazing and shocking as we found the story and the whole production, would be nothing more than the plot of a teen drama, and that’s why it matches so well with Euphoria.
