For years, the abuse committed by Dan Schneider, one of Nickelodeon’s most famous producers, was repressed and forced into the dark. However, that is about to change, as a documentary will soon reveal the truth.
Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV will allow us to know what happened behind the scenes during the production of some of the most iconic children’s programs of the 90s and early 2000s. The docuseries, which will have four chapters, will present several never-before-seen testimonies from former actors, crew members and industry experts about cases of child abuse and exploitation.

The documentary will reveal the terrible conditions under which the young actors were forced to work, working illegal, working hours with extreme pressures and, even, being victims of physical and emotional abuse.
Who Is Dan Schneider?
Dan Schneider was the famous producer behind some of Nickelodeon’s most beloved shows, such as Drake & Josh, iCarly, and Victorious. However, that changed when in 2013, Amanda Bynes accused Schneider of having sexually abused her, which ended up triggering other testimonies to begin to come to light, in which similar abuses were also reported.
Over the years, allegations against him include abusive verbal behavior, unfair treatment of cast and crew, as well as persistent rumors about inappropriate and sexual behavior with underage actors. Although Schneider always denied the accusations against him, in 2018, Nickelodeon ended its working relationship with the producer without revealing the reasons behind the decision, which ended up causing much more controversy around the issue.
