We finally got to see the first teaser of Joker 2 and although it’s only a few seconds, it’s full of brutal moments.
However, beyond the fragments of the scenes that suggest a mental explosion, there were some small details that only the realest fans noticed.
There were even those who compared the sequel to the Batman villain’s story to La La Land, assuring that it was it’s delutional version. Could it be?
Hidden details in Joker 2 trailer
If we continue watching the trailer, we are bringing out more and more juice that we were not able to see at our first glance. Fans really did their job on this one!
The Song in the Trailer
Something that many loved since the first film is the music, which apparently stands out even more in this film.
The trailer is accompanied by a song called What The World Needs Is Love, which dates back to 1965 and was first performed by Jackie DeShannon.
This song became a “peace anthem” for Americans and has even been linked to speeches by important figures such as John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
In a nutshell, this theme seeks equality in society, the same thing that the Joker, played by Joaquin Phoenix, cries out for.
Colorful umbrellas
The trailer shows a scene in which he walks in the rain guarded by police officers. When the shot approaches from above we can see colorful umbrellas.
There are those who interpret it as a nod to the French musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, while there are those who claim that it has nothing to do with it, rather it would be a reference to the colors of the costume he wears in the first film.

Reference to Robert Pattinson’s The Batman
Another hidden detail that everyone is talking about is that at the end of the trailer we see that the font used for the title of the movie is the same as The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, with the only difference being that it is in red and black.

Classic songs from other musicals
Director Todd Phillips once again turned to musicals for this sequel and the first teaser for the film made that pretty clear.
In Joker: Folie à Deux there are references to works such as Francis Ford Coppola’s One From The Heart, Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg and even comparisons to Damien Chazelle’s La La Land.

Another Harley Quinn Origin
Harley Quinn’s origin story could be very different from the one that has always been depicted in the DC world, as it is known that she is Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel and falls in love with the Joker after learning more about his mind and thoughts.
We have only seen the trailer, so it is not confirmed, but in this film this character appears as a patient, not as doctor.
However, another theory suggests that the one who is actually the patient is The Joker. Everything is in his head, and he is just creating scenarios, just as we could see in the first film.

Homage to the Joker’s costume in the comics
Something that fans of the Joker immediately highlighted were his outfits. He appears again with the one he disguises himself in on the first film, but there is another one!
Joaquin Phoenix shows off a white suit, similar to the one worn by this character in the comic book series and animated film The Dark Knight Returns (what a fan service!).

Another character from the Batman universe?
Something that did not go unnoticed, even if it was only for a few seconds, is that they give us a spoiler: a very important character is going to appear!
Arthur and Harley are shown outside a courthouse where they are surrounded by several people in gathering in a protest.
The people on this protest are holding sings, but one has something written on that stands out: the name of Harvey Dent, known to everyone as Two-Face. We don’t know if this is just a reference or if it’s a sign that we’ll see it in action.
