Since 2021, this series has been reported and will be directed by Mike Flanagan, an acclaimed horror film director, so suspense, mystery, and scares will surely be present in this adaptation. The Fall of the House of Usher is one of Edgar Allan Poe’s most macabre poems and although it has been adapted before, it has always been very classic and faithful to the work and they have all been films, but this time it will be a miniseries divided into 8 chapters. We tell you what it is about and when its expected premiere will be.

What The Fall of the House of Usher series is about
First, The Fall of the House of Usher is a horror story written by Edgar Allan Poe, considered one of the masters of horror and the gothic novel. Poe said that this story is one of his best works since it has biographical overtones. The original story is told in the first person, the character tells us that he has been invited to the old mansion of a childhood friend Roderick Usher, an artist who seems to have mental instability and lives with his sister completely removed from society. His sister, in poor health, ends up dying and her remains are buried in a crypt, but this is the first of terrible events that will result in a tragic end. The writer’s work talks about isolation and mental illness.

Based on the story from which the series is named, the story unfolds where the ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have turned the Fortunato Pharmaceuticals company into an emporium synonymous with wealth, privilege, and power. But secrets from the past come to light when the heirs of the Usher dynasty begin to die at the hands of a mysterious woman Roderick and Madeline knew in their youth. Thus, the series will be transferred to the present and Mike Flanagan will present a modern version of the story, as he did with other literary works from his previous projects, which raises the expectation of how he will translate the famous story into a current story.
Likewise, it had previously been announced that this series would have some changes with respect to the original story since it is based on The Fall of the House of Usher, but it will incorporate other stories by the same author within the main plot of the series and will unite them between. Among the stories that we could see in the series, either mentioned or involved in the story, are: The Cask of Amontillado, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Crow, The Premature Burial, The Well and the Pendulum, The Black Cat, The Cask of Amontillado and The Gold Bug. The series will arrive in the Netflix catalog on October 12, so save the date to be able to see one of the most anticipated series that will surely not disappoint us, we already want to see it!
