Joaquin Phoenix‘s face has been in several moments of history thanks to cinema, and now he will travel back in time to give life to Napoleon Bonaparte. The actor will work again with Ridley Scott, director of Gladiator, and we already have the first preview and images of how he looks in character. The resemblance is uncanny!
In the trailer, we go back to the last years of the French Revolution, where we can see a military man named Napoleon Bonaparte, who with his great skills for war, seeks to proclaim himself emperor of France. The film will focus on his battles, failures, triumphs, his personal and love life, and each of the things he had to do to achieve his goal.

Who Was Napoleon Bonaparte?
Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military and political leader, who was born on August 15, 1769, in Corsica and died on May 5, 1821, on the island of St. Helena. Thanks to his outstanding military skills, he became Emperor of the French.
Bonaparte became a prominent figure during the French Revolution and later in the Napoleonic Wars, which took place between 1799 and 1815. As a military man, Napoleon led French troops in numerous campaigns and battles, expanding France’s territory and facilitating an empire that spanned much of Europe.
In 1804, Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of the French, proposing an imperial regime in France. During his rule, he implemented a series of reforms and changes in the political and legal structure of the country, known as the Napoleonic Code.
To his misfortune, Napoleon’s military expansion led to clashes with other European powers and, finally, to his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. He was captured and exiled to the island of St. Helena, where he finally died in 1821.
