It seems that after all, the most coveted Hollywood bachelor isn’t single. Keanu Reeves is sure that his wedding to Winona Ryder for Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula of 1992 was so real that he believes the couple is truly married.
The actor told Esquire that now that he thinks about it, he believes that Winona and he are technically married “under the eyes of God” because everything was so real.
Coppola wanted everything to look as real as possible, so production hired a real priest for the wedding scene between Ryder and Reeves.
Keanu explained that they shoot the whole ceremony, including the part of the I dos. So, maybe he is right, he is truly married to Winona Ryder and neither of them knew back then!
“We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests,” Reeves said. “Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”
When Reeves heard of this, he responded with, “Oh my gosh, we’re married.”
Neither Winona nor Keanu have been married. Ryder has been in a relationship with the fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011, and Reeves was last known to be dating the artist Alexandra Grant.
We hear this just after Sandra Bullock confessed she had a crush and Keanu and he showed up in her house with flowers, truffles, and Champagne to surprise her.
