Olivia Munn, known for her roles in Iron Man and X-Men: Apocalypse, revealed that she was diagnosed with “aggressive” breast cancer since February 2023.
The Marvel actress shared a post on her social media where she announced that she recently underwent a double mastectomy.
She also emphasized that she hopes her testimony will help other patients with the same condition to find comfort, inspiration, and support in their own journey,” she wrote in the statement.

In the post, the 43-year-old actress and model mentioned that last year she underwent several genetic tests and a mammogram, which came back negative; however, later she underwent an MRI, an ultrasound, and a biopsy where they detected this disease.
She shared that the type of cancer diagnosed in both breasts is luminal B subtype, which is “aggressive and fast-growing,” but despite everything, she confessed that she feels “fortunate” as it was detected in time, giving her great hope.
“We caught it early enough to have options. I want the same for any woman who may have to face this someday.”
She also detailed that in the past 10 months, as part of the process to confront the disease, she has undergone four surgeries, including the removal of both breasts, and she is still undergoing treatment.
Amidst everything, she took the opportunity to thank the support of her partner, actor John Mulaney, who has not left her side for a moment.
“I needed to catch my breath and get through some of the toughest parts before sharing it,” she admitted.
That’s why Olivia Munn hasn’t appeared on screen as frequently. She limited herself to starring in the series Tales of the Walking Dead in 2022 and the movie The Gateway in 2021.
