Why are you so obsessed with me? Mean girls had a sequel and no one found out

At what age did you find out that Mean Girls had a second part? After the success of the film that was released in 2004, someone thought of making a sequel, thinking that it was a good excuse to exploit it in its entirety. However, things did not turn out as they imagined, since it was a complete failure, so much so that very few know that it existed or if they saw it, they thought it was another one and not a sequel.

What Was Mean Girls 2 About?

It was not a film to find out what had happened to the protagonists of the original version where Rachael McAdams and Lindsay Lohan stood out, it was a different story. The film focuses on Jo (Meaghan Jette Martin) a 17-year-old teenager who lives with her father. On her first day at school, she meets Abby, an outcast girl whom she befriends. Both join together to dethrone ‘The Means’.

Yes, it sure sounds exactly like the one we know; However, something changed. The boy the young woman fell in love with was more than impossible since he was the half-brother of the “queen bee.”

Mean Girls, The Musical

One might not have many expectations from a film that is inspired by a Broadway musical that is inspired by the original 2004 film, but the truth is that we were surprised by how good it is on its own. Mean Girls, the musical premieres this January 10, 2024, and although the creators decided to modify some things such as the sisters’ relationship with the physical education teacher, they follow the same line of modern female comedy, where social clichés, hierarchies, bullying, and beauty standards return as protagonists. Furthermore, sexuality is addressed in a freer way and without taboos, since when the original version was released, this was still a topic that few dared to talk about.

Among the cast, Angourie Rice stands out as CadyRenée Rapp as Regina George; Auli’i Cravalho as Janis; Bebe Wood as Gretchen; Avatika as Karen; and Jaquel Spivey as Damian. In addition to Tina Fey and Tim Meadows, who have played Professor Norvury and Principal Duvall, since the 2004 version.
