Not only is he hilarious, gorgeous, and a great actor, but also known for being part of the most successful franchises ever… and that’s what the MCU is urgently needing!
The star of The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, and The Mandalorian is now officially Marvel’s new Reed Richards for the upcoming Fantastic 4 movie, and although fans were hoping John Krasinski would reprise his small role from Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there hasn’t been a single complain about Pascal taking the role for himself.
Since last November, rumors spread that Pedro Pascal was almost confirmed to be the leader of this superhero group, but that they had to solve some schedule arrangements as he is currently working on the second season of The Last of Us. However, it wasn’t Pedro nor even Marvel the ones who broke the exciting news.
SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ guild, shared a post honoring the actor’s career in retrospect. Mistakenly, they added that the actor had been officially cast to play Reed Richards in the Marvel franchise. The post has been deleted since, but it seems that the film’s director Matt Shackman didn’t get the memo and jumped to his Instagram account to confirm the news we’ve all been waiting for the past couple of months.
Fantastic 4: Cast and Release Date
Matt Shakman, who was the creative mind behind WandaVision, was selected to take this classic group into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 2, 2025. But who will Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards lead?
So far, Pascal is the only confirmed cast member of the film but rumors claim Vanessa Kirby would play the iconic Sue Storm and Ebon Moss Bachrach will bring Ben Grimm to life. After this big news, we’ll likely have more announcements soon!
