Stephen King, one of our favorite horror writers, wrote Pet Sematary, a scary novel that was so interesting for the public that it became a film in 1989. Its brought in more than $57 million in the box office in the United States and Canada. A new version of the movie will be released in 2019, 30 years after the original.

The film is expected to premiere in April 2019, but since Halloween is around the corner, the production decided to share the first trailer with everybody.

The film tells the story of Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after moving from Boston to a rural area in Maine with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two children, discovers a mysterious graveyard hidden in the woods near their house. After their cat is killed by a truck, Louis buries the feline in the “Pet Sematary,” a place where the earth can bring the dead back to life.

The film is directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, who worked together previously in the horror film Starry Eyes and some episodes of MTV’s Scream. The film stars Jason Clarke, John Lithgow, Amy Seimetz, Naomi Frenette, and Alyssa Brooke Levine.
