There are only three episodes left until the end of season 4 and the finale of HBO’s Succession. This series has great popularity because, in addition to winning 13 Emmys and 48 nominations in its history, it has shown a little-known side of billionaires.
To find out who will be the ultimate winner of the spot left by Logan Roy after his death, the Esquire Spain magazine team decided to ask ChatGPT how Succession will end. “It’s possible that the dysfunctional family dynamic will continue and intensify, as siblings compete for power and influence. We could see shifting alliances and betrayals as each seeks an advantage over the others,” ChatGPT initially posited.
Here’s an unexpected twist: “As for Greg, his position as one of the least powerful and most vulnerable characters could lead to an unexpected turn of events. He could be underestimated by the other characters, but he could use his wit and cunning to gain the upper hand and take control of the company.” As they say, Greg has shown that it is better to be quiet and move on, but will he be the big winner of his uncle’s position?”
To find out how Greg, who apparently has no special involvement in the series, could become the CEO of the emporium, GPT was asked what his techniques would be: “One way Greg could become the successor at Succession is through a series of clever maneuvers and fortuitous opportunities. He could start by establishing alliances with other characters, such as Tom or Shiv, who have common interests and could help Greg advance in the power struggle.”
“In addition, Greg could use his position as a lawyer in the company to gain valuable information about the internal power dynamics and interests of the other characters. This information could give him a strategic advantage and allow him to make smarter and more effective decisions in his quest for control of the company. Another possibility is that Greg becomes a decisive factor in an internal power struggle, playing the characters against each other and creating a situation in which his unique position places him at the center of power,” the AI said.
And in replying to ChatGPT that Greg is not a lawyer, he replies, “You’re right, sorry for the mistake. Greg is not a lawyer, but a distant relative of the Roy family who works at the firm as an administrative assistant. Despite his initially inferior position in the firm, Greg has demonstrated astute intelligence and an ability to maneuver in difficult situations. One way Greg could become the successor at Succession is through his ability to gain valuable insight into the internal power dynamics and interests of the other characters. He could use his position as an assistant to learn the secrets of the company and the motivations of the other characters, which would give him a strategic advantage in the power struggle.”
If we do a quick recap of Greg’s position over the seasons, it’s clear that he has cleverly figured out how to manage the information he has access to slowly position himself within the family and sneak into increasingly critical and insider moments: “If Greg is getting closer and closer to Logan’s sons and is working hard to get valuable information, then he might have a better chance of becoming the successor at Succession. By being in good standing with Logan’s sons, Greg could gain their trust and potentially form an alliance that gives him greater influence and power in the company.”
On top of that, Greg has a strategic ally in this election: his grandfather, Logan’s brother Roy: “If Greg has his grandfather’s support on the company’s board of directors, then this could increase his chances of becoming the successor at Succession. Greg’s grandfather could be an important strategic ally and could have the clout to help him advance in the power struggle. If Greg can prove his worth to his grandfather and the board of directors, then he could gain their support and backing in the struggle for control of the company. This could be especially important if Logan’s sons become more confrontational and begin to fight amongst themselves for power, which could leave an opening for Greg to take control.”
What do you think: will Greg be the big winner of the Logan Roy crown or will it be one of his greedy cousins?
