2023, please calm down already (or better not)! Before the end of the year, we witnessed great premieres and unexpected announcements, such as the return of Doug. Yes, we are referring to that character with the big nose, green sweater, and brown shorts that made us part of his adventures with his friends.
But this time, Doug is no longer a student discovering the world, but just like us who saw him back in the 90’s, he has grown up!
What Will Doug’s Sequel Be About?
This new show will show us Doug as a dad, since he finally manages to win Patti, his crush since they were kids. The story will focus on the couple’s children, as revealed by Jim Jinkis, creator of Doug, during an interview with Tenn Buick, where he also mentioned that the sequel series is in early development.

Where and When Will Doug’s Sequel Be Released?
For a long time, we got used to watching Doug on Nickelodeon; however, in 1996, Disney bought Jumbo Pictures, the producer of this show. After the change, they launched an additional season with 26 episodes, which was aired on ABC. As it was well received by the public, it was renewed for two more seasons and a movie that was released in 1999.
That would have been the end of this fun story. Fortunately, Doug is back with a sequel, and although there is no premiere date yet, we know it will air on Disney+. Without a doubt, this is one of the most nostalgic pieces of news we’ve been treated to before the end of the year – right in childhood!
