One would think that an artist reaches their peak when they win an Oscar or a Grammy if we’re talking about musicians, and they kind of do. However, there’s an even more exclusive list only a very few can dare to dream of being a part of, and that is the precious EGOT status.

The EGOT list is basically the few people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, and you’d be surprised that only 19 people belong on that exclusive list, Elton John being the latest addition as he just won an Emmy for Best Live Variety Special for his Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium special.

The live special was part of his very last tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road, in which the music legend sadly said goodbye to the stages. Sadly, Elton John wasn’t able to enjoy his EGOT achievement live as he is recovering from a knee injury and surgery.

Elton has followed the great Viola Davis, who joined the list last year for her Grammy award (yes! the Queen got a Grammy!). He has already won five Grammys, the first one in 1987, an Oscar for The Lion King song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” in 1994, and a Tony Award for the score of the play Aida.
