Britney will always be America’s sweetheart and today she encourages us all to take care of our emotional and mental health as she’s posted on her Instagram account. With the caption “We all need to take time for a little “‘me time'”, she sheds a light on mental health and the importance of seeking help. After postponing her Vegas residency, Britney once again gets media attention as she checked into a mental health facility, and the possibility of this being linked to her father’s health during the last few months.
Britney Spears is certainly one of the most iconic performers of her generation and the face that defined 1990s pop culture. After nine studio albums, millions of records sold, multiple world tours, and a four-year show in Las Vegas with her “Britney: Piece Of Me” residency at Planet Hollywood, the Princess of Pop has achieved success, yet she has never compromised the well-being of those she loves, as she states in her post.
Britney Spears has been to hell and back in her career and personal life, yet she’s always found a way to make the best out of every obstacle that comes her way. Now, after a long and successful career, she’s announcing that she’s going to take a break from her upcoming “Britney: Domination” residency in Las Vegas to be with her family and help take care of her father’s health. Always true to her family values, she’s decided to take some time off to rest and be close to her father:
“I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make.”
Her last residency in Las Vegas was such a success that she re-signed her contract for two more years (originally, it was scheduled to run from 2013-2015, but it lasted until December 2017) and even became a world tour. So, it’s a shame that “Britney: Domination,” one of the most anticipated concerts of 2019, had to be put on hold until further notice. Yet, fans and the public have expressed their thoughts and support for the Southern singer, respecting her decision, and always showing love for the pop icon. We wish she, her father, and her family the best, and we hope to hear about her return to the stage very soon.
