Sam Smith is in one of the fullest moments of their career; however, not everyone is happy about it. The British singer has been the victim of mockery and harsh criticism due to their body, their image changes, and their identity, three things that we should never comment about someone else.
This has been quite a complicated process for the soloist; still, they try to fight every day to ignore the bad words and keeps doing what they love most: music and performing.
Users Want Sam Smith’s Concert to Be Censored
Due to their extravagant looks and the singer’s type of show, users want the show to be censored, especially since they believe it’s inappropriate for children. The British musician is free, wearing lingerie, boots, and stockings, dancing and singing the music they always wanted to do.
For many, the singer’s attitude, behavior, and attire have gone beyond the limits, and they are asking them to stop as that would not make them the best example for their younger fans, especially since the concerts have been announced for all audiences. Comments on the matter have been very harsh and claim that Smith “sucks;” some have labeled them as “abominable” and “out of control.”

Obviously, just as many people attacked the singer, some defended them from the bad reviews and emphasized how important it is to show yourself as you are regardless of the opinion of others. Likewise, some internet users stressed the importance of these shows, where LGBTIQ+ visibility is recognized, as well as diverse bodies and sarcasm towards what is believed to be satanic.
It is not the first time that the musician has had to face this kind of comments; their presentation at the Grammys 2023 also gave something to talk about after they associated their show with a satanic ritual. They have even been attacked on the streets just for being who they are.
The truth is that Sam Smith’s process when facing people’s hate has led them to be a much braver person. They have expressed all this through his songs which, for many, are letters of self-love that we should all read every day.
