Taylor Hawkins, legendary Foo Fighters drummer has died at the age of 50, announced the band in a statement.
The causes of his dead are still unknown, but the band was currently touring in South America.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” read the message the band posted. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
Taylor joined Foo Fighters in 1997 after the departure of William Goldsmith, band’s original drummer. After joined the rock band, he was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette.
Foo Fighters had scheduled a gig in Bogotá, Colombia as part of Festival Estéreo Picnic; however after the devastating news, the band formed in 1994 decided to cancel its South American tour.
