Rammstein is considered one of the best metal bands and has stood out in the history of music, above all, survived the years and consumption within their genre. Although the members have been celebrities with a fairly private life, they have not avoided getting involved in one controversy or another, among the most famous: the day Till Lindemann broke a fan’s jaw.

The Day Rammstein’s Leader Broke a Fan’s Jaw

Rammstein had just released their seventh studio album, and the band was doing the proper thing with the promotional tour, so their first performances were concentrated in their home country of Germany. After playing a concert in Munich on June 8, 2019, the band stayed at the Bayerischer Ho Hotel. There, Till Lindemann, the band’s frontman, chatted nonchalantly at the bar with a good friend.

Being a bar, his hometown, and Till Lindemann, a living metal legend, it was only logical that a fan would come up to say hello. And so it was, only that in addition to greet wanted to take a picture with Till, to which he politely refused because he was talking to her friend. The fan was offended by the refusal and, in response, insulted Till’s friend; according to the girl, the fan said in perfect English: “I would pay twice as much for you,” it was a truly disgusting thing to say.

She, Lana is her name, communicated the message in German to Till, who addressed the fan: “Did you just call my friend a prostitute? Apologize.” Of course, the fan declined the opportunity. And then Till Lindemann hit him with his elbow and sent him to the ground with a bloody nose and mouth. It was later confirmed that the blow had broken his jaw.

Of course, in Germany, the news spread quickly, and in defense of the singer his ex-girlfriend, model Sophia Thomalla, declared that Till Lindemann is a very polite man, it had to be a very serious offense to anger him in such a way. The Rammstein vocalist did not give any statement, and the band continued with their plans and the promotional tour of the album, which ended in August in the city of Vienna.

This event became one of the most controversial of the German band, but if we think about it, Till reacted to the misogyny that is lived every day. And few manage to do so.
