Once again, Travis Scott is being called out after a troubling show in Rome this past Monday. The rapper held some sort of a spontaneous show at the Circus Maximus, an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium near the Colosseum that has become a popular entertainment venue.
Scott had only announced the gig this past August, 1, and naturally, the coveted 70,000 tickets sold out within hours. This improvised show came after Scott’s gig at the Pyramids of Giza (Egypt), a couple of weeks ago, was canceled due to “complex production issues.” But what happened?

Travis Scott’s Rome Incident
The show was going as normal as attendees have reported. That was until Travis Scott invited his old-time friend and former brother-in-law Kanye West to the stage. 70,000 excited fans jumped ecstatically as Kanye came to the stage; as you can imagine, havoc ensued.
Soon, the police and fire departments in the Italian capital started getting hundreds of calls and reports from worried residents, who believed there was an earthquake taking place. Not only that but during the concert, deemed a fiasco by attendants, at least 60 fans ended up requiring medical help after they were pepper-sprayed. One 14-year-old fan was severely injured after climbing a wall.
Kanye’s surprise appearance was the first performance after his controversial antisemitic comments last year. But besides the turmoil Ye’s participation caused, Travis Scott is once again being called out on the internet not only for having another problematic show after the Astroworld tragedy in late 2021 but also because he endangered a valuable historical place.

Roman Archaeologist Are Furious
Alfonsina Russo, head director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, made a statement regarding the incident at the Circus Maximus. She first announced that all concerts are now forbidden in the ancient landmark except for operas and ballets.
Russo added that the “Circus Maximus is a monument. It is not a stadium, not a concert hall. These mega-rock concerts put it a risk. Rock concerts should be held in stadiums so as not to endanger public safety.”
Travis Scott hasn’t said anything regarding this past incident.
