The American actor Austin St. John, known for portraying Jason Lee Scott in the ‘90s series Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, finds himself in the midst of controversy—And it’s not about the rumor that he became a gay porn star—, but rather because he is now dedicated to selling T-shirts.

The issue? In an interview on a podcast, the series star has announced the launch of a new clothing line called “Warrior,” which will include quotes from famous historical figures known for their prominent roles as warriors, including Adolf Hitler.

“I want to go back in history from pre-Greek days, as far back as they can. I’ll have famous quotes from warriors, including the terrible ones. Hitler was a demon on steroids, but he had some pretty good one-liners,” said St. John on the podcast Toon’d In With Jim Cummings.

According to the actor, his intention is to make people reflect on history, acknowledging both leaders with positive profiles and those labeled as “terrible.” His equating widely condemned figures for their crimes against humanity with other figures considered heroes has sparked intense debate about the responsibility of remembering the past critically.

The actor’s statements have sparked a barrage of criticisms on social media, including that of his co-star Amy Jo Johnson, who played the Pink Power Ranger in the series, and who expressed bewilderment and even suggested that her former colleague needs the advice of a publicist.
