Kalina, the Princess of Bulgaria, has captured the world’s attention after she appeared in public recently with a radical physical change that has impressed everyone.
The princess, who is now 52 years old, attended the funeral of King Ferdinand I of Bulgaria at the end of May, making it clear why she has earned the nickname “the bodybuilding princess”, by showing off her toned body, the result of discipline and effort in exercise.
Kalina’s photos at the royal event quickly went viral, unleashing endless comments from people who have not only complimented her on her amazing body but have also criticized her physical appearance.

However, far from the criticism and negative comments, the reality is that the princess had to undergo several surgeries when she was very young to try to save her face after she contracted a lethal infection.
Her husband revealed in 2018 that Kalina’s health problems began in 1999 when the princess went to the dentist to get veneers on her teeth, but the dentist ended up drilling her bone, which caused an infection, which is why she first had to undergo a nose job.
But that was not the end of her problems, because a year later she had another complication in one of her eyes, so she had to be operated on again and the doctors were able to save her sight and nose.
Who is Kalina, the princess of Bulgaria?
Princess Kalina of Bulgaria was born on January 19, 1972, in Madrid, Spain, and although she is little known on this side of the world, she is the only daughter of former King Simeon II of Bulgaria and Margarita Gómez-Acebo y Cejuela.
In 2002 she married the Spanish explorer Antonio “Kitín” Muñoz Valcárcel with whom on March 14, 2007, she received her first son, Prince Simeón-Hassan Muñoz.
Kalina is known for being a strong advocate for the environment and for frequently participating in charitable activities, which has led her to work with various organizations for environmental conservation, education, and art.
