The roaring 20s brought change into society; women were more liberated, at least the famous flapper girls were, the world was just recovering from the Great War, and society was avid to enjoy life at its best. However, at the same time, this new modern world represented fear and preoccupation for the upcoming future. Not to mention, they were not aware that only five years later, the Great Depression would tear all the dreams, and over a decade later, a second world war would ravish the world.

Beds That Wake Out Kids
Certainly, there was one preoccupation to make kids wake up by themselves and an alarm clock wasn’t enough for people in their 20s. According to this prediction, by 2024 kids would be violently wakened up by a special bed that would fly them out of it.

By 1924, horses were still one of the main means of transportation, although mechanical cars were already being introduced in the main cities. The city of the future, and we’re not that far from it. This prediction envisioned a futuristic city with three-deck roads, skyscrapers as high as 15 stories (we’ve done way more than that!), and not that many cars. They thought horses and cars would be replaced by smart monorails or airplanes.

In a Wall-E kind of dystopia, this prediction claimed that in 2024, men’s legs would be atrophied from the lack of exercise mainly prompted by the lazy use of the automobile. There would be no pedestrians anymore and thus, the human species would be forced to use motorist devices.
