Newly surfaced allegations claim that Errol Musk, father of billionaire Elon Musk, is a sexual offender, according to a recent investigation by The New York Times. These accusations, dating back to the early 1990s, have rocked the Musk family and generated fresh scrutiny over the elder Musk’s past.
Errol Musk Sexual Abuse Allegations Surface
The report claims that beginning in 1993, Errol Musk sexually abused multiple family members in both South Africa and California. One of the most disturbing accusations involves Errol’s then 4-year-old stepdaughter, who said that he touched her inappropriately at the family’s home. In subsequent years, the accuser alleged she later saw him sniffing her dirty underwear—a claim that intensifies the severity of the accusations.
Further complicating the allegations, the same former stepdaughter is reported to have had at least one child with Errol Musk once she reached adulthood. Errol has denied that she was ever truly his stepdaughter, asserting she spent much of her youth away from the family.
Additional claims include accusations by other family members. Two daughters and a stepson have reportedly accused him of abuse, and in 2023, an alleged incident occurred with a 5-year-old son who said his father groped him.
Investigations and Legal Outcomes
According to the Times report, three separate police investigations have been initiated in response to the accusations, yet none have resulted in formal criminal charges against Errol Musk. The investigations drew on court records, interviews with family members, and social services documentation.
No indictments or prosecutions appear to have followed, and thus far Errol Musk has not been legally held accountable under criminal statutes for these claims.
Errol Musk has strongly denied the allegations in a statement, calling them “false and nonsense in the extreme.” He claimed that members of the family concocted the accusations for financial motives or to extort Elon.
Elon Musk, notably, declined to comment on the Times investigation. Nevertheless, the strained relationship between Elon and his father is well documented. In a 2017 interview, Elon described Errol as “a terrible human being … Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done.” He also stated that the relationship was beyond repair.
