The #FakeMelania conspiracy theories are as old as the Trump administration, which by now seems to have been going on forever. The rumors were reignited when the President and the First Lady visited Alabama to pay their respects to the victims of a recent tornado.
Some keen observers couldn’t help but notice there was something off about Melania. “She’s 5 inches shorter,” and “her face looks different,” among other things.

Melania’s director of communications, Stephanie Grisham, told media news outlet CNN that “once again, we find ourselves consumed with a ridiculous non-story when we could be talking about the work the First Lady is doing on behalf of children, including the opioid crisis that is gripping our nation.”

However, nothing could stop the rumors that the White House has been using a body double to pass as Melania. So, now, photos of the first couple deboarding Air Force One have left people shocked enough that #FakeMelania started trending on Twitter.
But this is all just a bunch of BS, right? Right?!

Some people went full Sherlock Holmes even on the way Melania (or should I say #FakeMelania?) was walking. “Real Melania would never walk in front of him – always behind,” said one Twitter user. “Melania would NEVER walk in front of Trump, and this version is much more comfortable and animated taking those stairs,” said another.
@popyblascoIn the fall of last year, self-proclaimed detectives zoomed in on Melania’s face and concluded it wasn’t the real Melania standing next to (or behind) Trump at all the press conferences and events. But if this isn’t Melania, then who is it? Who could be close enough to Melania to serve as a stand-in? Who could be as glamorous as her? Who would they trust with this huge montage?
People have got that covered as well.
@vaughnfryIt all started by taking a closer look at those around the First Lady, and then, bam! Enter Hope Hicks, her own personal bodyguard, who was now apparently taking her place at an event in Ohio.
Let’s not forget that after Trump’s 2016 shock win, Melania famously stated that she was not moving into the White House, and was actually staying at her home in New York City. That being said, is it bad that it kind of makes sense?
