Chaos erupted in London after several military horses escaped and caused havoc in the city streets during the morning rush hour. The frenzied gallop of the horses resulted in injuries and left a bloody trail in their wake. In some photos retrieved from TMZ, we can see that the horses destroyed buses, frightened London pedestrians, and even one of the horses had its chest and legs covered in blood. It remains unclear whether the blood belonged to the horse itself or another person or animal.

Five Royal Cavalry Horses Run Through London Streets
Five horses from the Life Guards, part of the prestigious Royal Cavalry, tore through the streets of London on Wednesday morning, causing destruction and chaos. The British Army confirmed in a statement via its official Twitter account that the frenzied gallop began after some horses were startled during a prolonged exercise. Reportedly, the incident that triggered the chaos was when a piece of concrete fell from a conveyor belt at a construction site and, upon hitting the ground, the noise spooked the animals, creating a chain reaction of chaos.

According to sources, five out of seven horses escaped, and four soldiers dismounted from their horses, leaving three of them injured during the escape. It has been reported that the soldiers are being assessed at the hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening. It has also been reported that the horses ran about 6 miles through the city of London in approximately 2 hours, and reports emerged that they collided with vehicles, trampled people on the street, and destroyed some buses.
Around 10 a.m. local UK time, London police reported via X that the horses had been captured, and sometime later, Westminster police confirmed that they had found the remaining three horses. The army transported the horses to a veterinary center where they were being evaluated.
