Impressive images left one of the worst snowfalls that have been recorded in 150 years in Moscow, which caused the cancellation of flights at three airports in the Russian capital, in addition to interrupting traffic on roads and leaving dozens of cars under a dense layer of snow.
In addition, due to the snowfall recorded in the last few hours, the temperature dropped to -58 degrees Celsius and it is expected that several regions of Russia, including Siberia, will record temperatures of -60 degrees Celsius (-76ºF). Videos are circulating on social networks showing how Russians struggle to do daily activities due to the large amount of snow. According to some meteorologists and Russian media, this is one of the largest snowfalls that have occurred in Moscow in 150 years.

More Snowfall Is Expected in the Coming Days
With the beginning of this intense snowfall, which was recorded on Sunday and continued throughout the night and early morning of Monday, up to 23 centimeters of snow was recorded that did not stop falling in Moscow and several surrounding regions. Furthermore, it is predicted that winter will be particularly harsh this season, since according to meteorologists, more snowfall is expected in the coming days; Meanwhile, the population has been asked to remain safe and report any incident to emergency services.

So far, the Moscow Traffic Department has reported almost 200 trucks that were stuck in the snow during the last 24 hours, requiring the help of traffic workers, who assisted the drivers of the heavy units. For the cleaning tasks in the city, some 135 thousand people and 180 thousand pieces of equipment participated in cleaning the dense layer of snow that remained after the heavy snowfall.
