The letter urges Netflix to reinstate the films and, by doing so, reaffirm its commitment to diverse representation and inclusivity.

In response to the criticism, the content distributor cited expired licensing agreements as the reason for the removal, emphasizing that the company continues to support diverse voices globally.
“Those licenses have already expired. As always, we continue to invest in a wide variety of quality movies and TV shows to meet the needs of our members and celebrate voices from around the world”
However, this justification has not been enough to stem the tide of public outrage, with many questioning whether the expiration alone justifies the removal of a collection that highlights the Palestinian experience and cancelling their accounts.
Despite the defense, key Palestinian titles such as 200 Meters, Farha, and the Oscar-nominated Ajami remain on the platform.
