Ouija spooky story - the dark story of why you should never ask ouija when are you going to die

Today, we’re diving into a story that will give you chills and maybe even make you think twice about using a Ouija board to ask life’s biggest questions.

This isn’t just a ghost story; it’s a real-life experience shared by a young woman on social media about an encounter she had years ago. Spoiler alert: it’s intense, and it all began with two friends we’ll call Ana and Penelope.

The Dark Story of Why You Should Never Ask Ouija When Are You Going to Die

So, Ana and Penelope were typical teens… with a twist. They had a not-so-average hobby: playing with a Ouija board. Penelope, the more “spiritually sensitive” one, usually led the way, sometimes even bringing her older sister into their sessions.

Three girls playing ouija

One night, after watching a movie where kids ask a witch the date of their death, Penelope got the bright idea to ask the same question through their Ouija board.

Ana and Penelope’s sister were immediately against it. They didn’t want to know their fate, but Penelope was all in. Sitting confidently in front of the board, she asked, “At what age will I die?” And, as if on cue, the glass they used started moving, spelling out a haunting answer: 22.

This all happened when they were just 12. Although they wrote it down and mostly forgot about it over the years, Penelope’s life was far from normal after that night. By 16, her life took a dark turn when her boyfriend tragically passed away in a freak accident.

He had been hanging up lights in his yard and somehow slipped, the lights ending up strangling him. When Ana visited Penelope afterward, she found her friend in a strange mix of anger, sadness, and unsettling calm, saying, “At least we’ll be together soon.” Penelope hadn’t forgotten the Ouija board’s prophecy.

Life went on, and Ana and Penelope drifted apart. But one day, Ana saw on Instagram that Penelope had gotten married. Watching the video, Ana noticed a little girl singing in the background and holding a Bible on her lap. At one point, the girl leaned over to Penelope and whispered just loud enough to hear, “What does it feel like knowing you’re going to die soon?”

Ana was startled. By then, Penelope was 21—her fated age was fast approaching, and her face showed real fear for the first time.

Time passed, and Penelope turned 22, with a new husband and baby. On a family trip to some cabins, she and her cousin went out for a drive through the snowy mountains, something she’d done countless times. But this time was different.

Mountain dark

The car skidded on ice, and they plunged off a cliff. Her cousin survived. Penelope didn’t. Just as the Ouija board had predicted, she died at 22.

This story is a reminder: don’t ask the Ouija board about your death. Spirits love to mess with your mind and play off your fears, pulling you further into their grasp. As Ana tells it, Penelope was haunted by strange paranormal events all her life. Could it be that a spirit attached itself to her after that night and caused her demise? Whatever the reason, knowing her “destiny” may have set Penelope on a path she couldn’t escape.

In the end, knowing the “when” of your death could become a prophecy in itself. Live without carrying that burden—because sometimes, curiosity can cost you more than you realize.
