A hickey is simply a bruise that appears, most of the times, when someone sucks or kisses your skin in a bit aggressive way. That’s why some people also call them love bites, love marks, or sucker bites. When you get one, your friends and family usually start asking questions about the blue, purplish, or dark red mark.
A hickey is a simple bruise, and like any other bruise, you have to give it some time to heal. If you don’t do anything, it will disappear on its own in between 5 and 12 days. But there are several things you can do to make it go away faster.

Bandaids:
This is pretty straightforward. Accidents can happen and a bandaid can be a fast and easy solution to hide that love mark!

Overnight tricks
Toothbrush:
This is probably the best method to get rid of a hickey. You have to massage the hickey area with a soft-bristled toothbrush. It might be a bit painful, but it works great. When you start massaging, the accumulated blood begins to circulate, and it increases the blood flow. The hickey will eventually disappear.

You’ll need a soft-bristled toothbrush. Brush the area for 2 to 3 minutes. Try to push outwards from the center of the mark. Wait from 5 to 10 minutes, and apply a cold compress for 5 to 7 minutes more. Repeat as necessary and if you think it’s too painful, stop the treatment immediately to avoid tearing your skin and actually hurting yourself!
Cocoa Butter:
Cocoa butter helps hydrate your skin, so it will help accelerate the healing process. Soak a clean towel in warm water, then apply it to the hickey area. Take a small piece of raw cocoa butter and gently massage on the affected area for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat the process 4 to 5 times a day. This will also help stimulate the circulation on the area. If you can’t find cocoa butter, you can substitute with lotion, oil, or cream made with cocoa butter.

Tuna Oil:
Yes, you read it right. Tuna oil is one of the best ways to get rid of hickeys. It’s rich in omega-3-fatty acids, which are great to help your skin heal.
Dip your fingertip in the tuna oil and massage gently on the affected area. Leave it there for 5 to 7 minutes and wash it off with fresh water. Repeat 3 to 4 times a day and voilà!

Pink eraser:
Yes we know, this sounds strange, but the pink eraser remedy works like magic. It helps reduce skin discoloration within 30 minutes and will also help dilute the blood clot fast.
Get a pink eraser and place it on the hickey. Twist the eraser right and left and move it around the spot for 2 to 5 minutes. You will see results within 30 minutes!
