The MET Gala show and red carpet will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024. Still, there is a temporary fashion exhibition, which will be available from May 10 to September 2, which will be called: “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” (Sleeping Beauties: the awakening of fashion).
What is the theme of the MET Gala 2024?
This 2024, the magic and childhood dreams will be reflected in the best looks of celebrities, who will parade at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York, in the United States. The theme of this edition will focus on sustainability and reviving 50 iconic pieces from fashion history, that are too delicate to be worn again, even to be displayed on a mannequin. That is why they become “sleeping beauties.”
The collection will contain 250 designs spanning four centuries from the museum’s permanent exhibition, including works by Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and other renowned brands. “The exhibition will inject new life into these iconic objects through creative and immersive activations designed to convey the smells, sounds, textures, and movements of garments that can no longer interact directly with the body,” highlighted the event organizers.

So far, the celebrities who will attend the 2024 MET Gala have not been confirmed. Still, some of the names that appear because they are almost always present are the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Justin and Hailey Bieber, the influencer Emma Chamberlain, or the sisters Hadid.
