I think that we can officially say we’ve seen it all. There seems to be a vaginal treatment craze that’s going places never seen before. Not so long ago, several doctors warned women through different media about the dangers of a new fashion trend that involved wasps and female intimate parts. If you didn’t saw it all over the Internet, I’m talking about the practice of introducing wasp nests into the vagina to “tighten and rejuvenate it,” because yes, that sounds very healthy and not risky at all. Beyond that, a new trend to exercise that area has become popular in social media, and that’s vaginal kung fu, a method to strengthen pelvic muscles through weight lifting. This obsession with “improving” the functioning of the vagina or to make it look in a determined way has brought us one new wonder. Prepare to say WTF, because these are glitter bombs, the innovative pills that promise to turn sex into a sparkling experience.
This strange product, called Passion Dust, is a capsule with glitter inside that you stick in your vagina prior to the sexual encounter. Why would you do that? Well, apparently sex isn’t wonderful enough for this company, so they think we have to add some sparkling and festive vibe to it. Once inside the capsule dissolves with the humidity and warmth, then the body’s natural fluids mix with the glitter contained in the pills, releasing a sparkling substance. Does this help improve the experience? Not really, but it’ll fill your sheets with colorful glitter.
Besides that, it allegedly has a specific flavor. This would probably could come in handy if you’re completely irresponsible and practice oral sex without protection. So, no, it’s not something useful or appealing. On their official website, they mention that it isn’t a kind of lubricant or gel that enhances the sexual performance in a physical way, but that the only purpose is to make the experience more fun. Yes, that’s the only feature of this passion dust.
So, if you thought that at least there are different flavors or scents you can choose from, you’re gonna be very disappointed, since it only comes in one candy-like flavor. But the main issue of this capsule is not just the fact that it’s completely useless, but that it can actually pose a health risk. Before going into the harm it can cause, let’s see what is it made from. Passion dust is a combination of completely edible gelatin and starch glitter, so it allegedly dissolves and gets out of your system with the normal discharge of the sexual activity. But its composition is what brings many health issues in the area.
According to gynecologist Dr. Jen Gunter, while the company doesn’t really specify all the ingredients, it’s easy to assume that the glitter itself is made with sugar, since they claim is edible. That doesn’t sound too bad, right? Well, Gunter states that due to the nature of our vagina, when we put substances like sugar in it, it’s much likely that the bacteria residing inside will multiply, turning your vag into a petri dish. Not a great idea now, right?
Moreover, it can alter the natural”good bacteria” and make you more prone to get a serious infection, even a STD. If you want more reasons why this is a very bad idea, bear in mind that the little specks of glitter don’t really dissolve, since the point of everything is that the fluids you discharge look sparkling, so they can actually injure the medium they travel through.
