Keanu Reeves couldn’t be more perfect. Now we know that when Sandra Bullock told him she hadn’t tried champagne and truffles, the actor got to her house, with these treats for her to enjoy.
Sandra and Keanu met in 1994 when they both were filming “Speed”. They developed a friendship that lasted for almost 30 years, even though we know now that both had crushes on each other but never confessed.
But back to the truffles and champagne story. In a recent Reeves’ profile published by Esquire, Bullock recalls that one night when the actor surprised her not only with Champagne but flowers as well.
Sandra Bullock recalls that during the early years of their friendship, she casually mentioned once that she had never tried truffles and champagne. Something that Keanu couldn’t believe.
A few days later, Reeves showed up at Bullock’s new house with flowers, Champagne and truffles in hand. Obviously, she was amazed he even remembered such a triviality.
“He said, ‘I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like,'” Bullock told Esquire.
That night, they both had truffles and Champagne as well as a mani session in which Sandra painted Keanu’s nails black and had a pleasant talk. Mostly from her side, because the actress revealed he was just listening and staring at her.
“The more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get,” Bullock said. “And I thought, ‘I don’t understand what’s happening! He’s looking at me with eyes of confusion. He’s quiet. Did I say something to offend him?’ And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, ‘I thought about what you said.'”
Many years later, in 2018 specifically, Bullock confessed she had a crush on Reeves while they were filming “Speed”, but thought it wasn’t mutual. Later the same year, Keanu confirmed he had a crush on her as well.
