I wish you could live forever, so that I may never know the pain of losing you, my greatest love, and so I may never know the loneliness that comes from losing you, my true friend in life, the one who has been in my best and worst times; the one who doesn’t give up when a daughter is stubborn about not wearing a sweater when it’s cold; stubborn about doing the dishes or any other of life’s trivialities; the one who stays up late waiting until I get back home safely from a party.
I love you from here to the Sun, to Pluto, to the most distant galaxy. I love you as far as possible, for I will never feel this love for anyone else the way I feel it for you and nothing will substitute the lessons that you have left me my entire life. I thank you for your understanding and support in the hard times, and, though I know you are a person of a few words, who says the most inappropriate things at the most inappropriate moments, I love you for how genuine you are and for always speaking your mind.
