This Sunday, February 6th, Queen Elizabeth commemorated 70 years on the throne and though big celebrations will take place until next June, she didn’t miss the opportunity to remember her late husband on such an important date.

According to Gyles Brandreth, Prince Philip’s biographer, Queen Elizabeth appeared this weekend using a walking stick that was once the Duke’s property.

“I recognized the stick instantly as it was always kept in a pot by the front door,” told Brandreth, to The Telegraph. “It was the Duke’s stick, and it is very touching that the Queen has started using it.”

The Queen was photographed using the stick, which is taller than a conventional one and certainly, taller for her.

As part of the celebrations, the monarch released a statement in which she thanked all the sacrifices and support she received from Prince Philip since the day she became Queen.

To this day, The Queen keeps remembering and honoring her late husband who died last April 9th of 2021 at the age of 99.

During the Jubilee’s celebration, it was also announced that the service of thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip will take place next March 29 at Westminster Abbey.
